Does the alt text not work across all lemmy servers?
Isn't real alt text just showing when the picture isn't? Like the text being shown as an alternative to the image?
If you add the translation to the body, everyone should be able to see it.
If you're on a phone, long press the image and then the alt text should be in the top of the menu box that pops up. On a computer, right click to see it.
On jerboa, it just shows the link to the picture. In most posts with images I see on Lemmy, the posters provided a description of the image in the text part of the post.
I can't see it on .world
