Yeah, if they knew who he was and where he lived, those assholes probably already hated him for everything and then got angry and riled up and shot him.

What a tragedy, sounds like he was doing so much important work for his community.

A classic oldie would be Starhawk's Fifth Sacred Thing.

Eta-this is also a favorite genre of mine!
