Coca-Cola's move comes a week after the White House issued a statement by President Trump saying he had been talking to the soft drink giant about using cane sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup in its signature drink.

Corn Refiners Association President and CEO John Bode predicts that an increase in using U.S. cane sugar will lead to a rise in foreign cane sugar imports.

Bode said in a statement to NPR, "Replacing high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar would cost thousands of American food manufacturing jobs, depress farm income, and expand the trade deficit."

That makes sense. I’ve always thought of NixOS as a desktop distro, not as a server. Guess I need to expand my thinking!

I run Fedora Server with podman and docker side by side. I try to use podman whenever possible but sometimes it’s not worth the hassle so that’s when it becomes a docker container 😬

What services are you running in your pods/containers? Are they local applications like libreoffice or are they network accessible in the more traditional style? What’s the advantage to running a podman container on your machine vs a Flatpak container?

Sorry for all the questions. This is an interesting setup and I’m just really curious.

qBit does delete the file from my physical drive (direct attached storage, raid5). But won't update the free space in the WebUI. The discrepency is over 1TB, so I'd like to address this if someone can help me.

Some info:

  • qBit v.5.0.1, docker, from linuxserver.io
  • Ubuntu 24.04
  • Automatic Management Mode is checked
  • Torrent content removing mode: Delete files permanently
