As someone who designs and builds networks as a profession, I don't see this being a great idea. Maybe I just don't have all the facts.

I am leaning heavily on the example of M$ trying an underwater datacenter, which they decommissioned and have not pursued further. Put a node of compute somewhere and eventually it will become obsolete or unusable due to hardware failure. Not to mention the energy requirements and cooling needed in space. Waste heat does not just dissipate unless it has a heat sink, which adds more volume and mass to the payload!

I start with a pair of good insoles, then as those wear down I buy another, and another, and so on until the shoe tread wears out or holes appear in them. If you buy some of those magic eraser pads, you can usually keep the outside of the shoes looking relatively new for a lot longer as well. I have some shoes right now that are going on ~1.5 years and I'll probably get another 1.5 out of them.

Pro-tip: don't buy the cheapest shoes you can if you can afford it. I used to buy $20 skate shoes and they would wear out in less than a year.

You summed it up perfectly

Well said. Focus on what you can influence and realize most things are outside of your control.

Yeah when I read that I knew it was only a matter of time before something like this happened

That's a valid question, especially with AI coding being so prevalent.

There has been a lot of data mining in the past few months that indicates they are working on something that has yet to be released, which is very likely a Half Life game. I've been watching the HLX Files series by Tyler McVicker for a while as he sticks to just facts without much hype.

Check out the Fever app for local date night ideas. I have found a few fun things like candlelight music, dining in the dark, escape rooms, etc.

Check out Everout for local things like comedy shows, book readings, events, night markets, and other things to do that sound interesting to you. Actually commit to going to one.

Write notes. It sounds corny, but it takes 5 minutes and means a lot, even if you're a rambling mess. Tell her how much she means to you in physical writing.

Find a new meal recipe that sounds good to you. Make the food, get some wine, and ask her about something she is interested in. Listen attentively, and ask questions.

I struggle with ADHD as well. I am always thinking about something else. I am not an extrovert. These ideas are things you can do with your partner, or any new partner/friend. When it comes to whether you should separate, that's something only you can decide. If you want to make it work, it does take effort - a relationship is a two way street, or a dance you can't do apart.

So what about France and the UK? They have nukes as well.

We don't have too many more years before this is common throughout the globe. Remember that this is a canary in a coal mine, or the first domino to fall. It is not going to stay exclusive to this lake, this country, or this hemisphere.

I've gone through the stages of grief when it comes to climate change more than I'd like to admit. I wished the evidence I saw was wrong. I hoped the predictions were incorrect. Yet here we are, watching river dolphins boil alive and people saying, "huh, that's weird. I wonder why that happened."

Or my favorite quote from the article

"I am going to have a complete and total mental breakdown. I am going to be institutionalized. They are going to put me in a padded room and I am going to write... code on the walls with my own feces," it said.
