HA I've been so brainwashed by 2025 I see the word smart and stupidly assume AI.

Looks like its just sensors.

I actually think this makes it worse because it doesn't really bring a whole lot to the table from a STEM-toy perspective, although I guess learning to utilize sensors could be good for some kids if there is any type of granular control.

I grew up with Lego Mindstorms, so it can definitely inspire.

wow, so just more trash and waste for the sake of making toys AI integrated...?

I'm all for giving kids the tools of the future early (with limits)

but why do we have to make it disposable? (profit, I know, its rhetorical guys).

I followed AI developments in the beginning, but it felt like really effective use cases were always just out of reach.

Last time I was using AI was before "Agentic" AI was a thing (it was just around the corner).

Can anyone clue me in, is AI still making forward progress? I feel like if there was a massive change or breakthrough it would be HUGE news, but I also imagine slow incremental progress could eventually build up to being a breakthrough.

I understand that it is still way too prone to errors and hallucinations to be trusted with serious tasks, but have there been any noteworthy improvements?

No shit? I might have to try that, only problem is my spouse will kill me if I break it... (primary TV)....

Also drugs.

I always said as long as crypto can be used to buy drugs, it will have value.

When everything we know in the world is gone and we're using rocks to make spears again, people will still want drugs, the value is eternal.

Yeah i was thinking that the other day when they were talking about an 11 million dollar EFT now valued at 100 USD.

I was like, shit, I'd pay 100 USD for that one.

Was gonna say, LG does the same thing.

So far my only TV that hasn't forced things in an absurd way has been my Sony... Guess what Sony just did? (Sold their Bravia TV line to TCL...)

DJ probably would have, except no one signed a formal declaration of war...

madly evil.

Although I believe there is STRONG evidence that DJ is demented in an old person way, so I think mad fits.

I feel like its also a big part of the reason inflation took off like crazy after his first term (some of the spending was a good idea due to Covid, but he spent on a lot more).

Really wishing I had bought gold when it was cheap...
