The fluids are all water based so they don't ruin their costumes, along with the venues. When I saw them a few years ago there were some people with white shirts on that just looked red by the end of the show. Looking in the mirror I could tell my face was redder than usual, but I'm also pretty pale. Being wet was more annoying than being red, but I also had to drive myself.

As far as I know it should wash out, but I typically wear dark colors, so I can't speak from experience. Thinking about it more, you might want to save your favorite shirt for a different day.
