Welcome to the official Anti-AI Alliance (AAA)!

My name is the Anti-AI Leader, and in case you haven’t guessed, I am the leader of this community for people as disgruntled and disillusioned with AI as I have become!

By joining the Anti-Ai Alliance, you are entering a space to freely express your true distain towards all things Artificial Intelligence (AI). And it’s not even exclusive to people who don’t use AI at all — users of AI are just as welcome to sign up and discuss the issues with AI in the world.

Our only rule is to follow the very basic of the fediverse’s common rules (I.e. no spam, no porn, etc.) Other than that, you may post whatever you like, though we do strongly encourage you to keep the discussion focussed on distain for/the negative aspects of AI.

Many thanks and welcome, The Anti-AI Leader

That’s how I felt waking up this morning (as of posting). Who else can relate?

Once again, we are reading the news of AI-hack-AI action.

Though nobody expected it in the first place, AI is not perfect and can make mistakes (obviously 🙄) What’s your experience with this? I’d love to hear about it.

In fairness, the argument that AI is a cult/false religion/false god has been made many times before, however I believe that AI and the AI community most closely aligns with a cult, and here’s why:

Indoctrination techniques:

Generally, techniques that indoctrinate users into the cult tend to follow similar trends, which are notable in many of the AI models having similar effects on the users who subsequently become frequent users of the technology. Broken down, I’d say it’s something like this:

-Innocuous beginnings: Cults are notorious for beginning the indoctrination process with something simple and seemingly harmless on the surface (I.e. conferences, videos, films, games, etc.) these are all real techniques that various cults have used in the past, to somewhat success. Likewise, AI chatbots, image and video generators present just this: an invitation to engage with something fun and seemingly harmless, something that engages the audience and draws their attention.

-Love bombing: Perhaps the most notorious hook of cults is love bombing — giving heaps of praise and complements to the joining members. Likewise, AI chatbots constantly tell you how good your point is or how you’re always on the right track (“you’ve hit the nail on the head”, “that is an amazing point” are but a few I have read of Gemini) This is undoubtedly a form of love bombing.

-Promise of more: Cults often work by enticing their audience with something good, but promising something great (something better) later. Likewise, AI tech companies are always promising more, more, more if you subscribe/follow their work. What better reward for AI users can there be but the promise of bigger and better AI? This is exactly how both cults and AI operate.

Beyond the indoctrination similarities, there are also many, many peripheral similarities (by which I mean subtle, not less important similarities) which include:

-reach and scope: historical cults have often managed to expand their reach across multiple countries around the world. Need I explain how this is similar to the reach and scope of AI?

-withholding/hiding information

-leaders who turn out to be crooks/criminals

-leaders who amass fortunes

And many more.

What do you think? Are the similarities superficial, or could AI actually be a worldwide cult hidden in plain sight?

Anyone arguing that AI shouldn't have rights is just helping Altman make billions and helping Elon Musk cyberfuck his AI nazi child girlfriend. Which should be illegal.

Of course, some might rightly argue that this has happened without the influence of both Epstein or AI 🤔

I genuinely believe there are people out there who might ask something like this

Ok, so not every single student does this. But I’ve heard tales of a lecturer who caught his student out. How did he slip? He copied and pasted the but that said ‘AI can make mistakes’ or whatever the copilot equivalent is 🙄

This tweet is fake. I made it in GIMP. Elon would never be this honest.

Imagine if behind-the-scenes they were and the rise of AI was actually fuelling itself? A most disturbing prospect

We all know there are people who would go this way if they could. Well, they might 🫪

One of the many mouthpieces of madness is claiming that ‘leaders’ are pumping doom laden information (read misinformation) about AI, including some leading voices of AI development.

Read the story here

Breaking news: mere hours ago (stretching the definition of breaking, I know) the new UK Prime Penister — ahem! Minister — announced new classes for children age 14 including classes on AI.

Now, to me this could go either way. Either, it opens these children’s eyes to the problems with AI and actually encourages the next generation to solve the issues of AI, or this lazy generation might end up being indoctrinated into the greed and corruption surrounding AI. Knowing the fallibility of human beings, in my humble opinion it is most certainly the latter, but who knows? What are your thoughts on this announcement?

So when are they gonna apologies for all the environmental damage AI has already caused, whether directly or indirectly?

Read here: https://www.techradar.com/pro/amd-ceo-welcomes-us-to-the-yottascale-era-lisa-su-says-ai-will-need-yottaflops-of-compute-power-soon

Good grief, has she not seen all the advances in medical technology in the last 50 years? Life saving technology? How can someone with such high qualifications be this stupid?

And on a side note, she also says ‘AI is for everyone’. if AI is for everyone, why doesn’t she champion for companies to stop putting AI technologies up behind paywalls and subscriptions? 🤔

Does this show the disadvantages of OpenAI’s development strategies that they made something able to do this, or do you think there is something else at play here?
