Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

F7 key on 67% keyboard (lemdro.id)

SOLVED: i used the simulate input action on opendeck and set it to f7. yes i have a streamdeck

so i use a program where you need to press f7 and you cant change it, but i only have a 67% keyboard and the layout i have selected in my keyboard setting doesnt seem to have fn on any of my keys so pls help

EDIT: just so you guys know i have a streamdeck that i can use but idrk how to configure a button to be f7

Adding to the comments about VIA and QMK, you can also use something on the computer itself to do ergonomics tricks and making F7 usable again.

I'm in particular using kanata, which then works on everything from notebook keyboards to custom ones. I'm not 100% happy with it and in fact considering to write my own software for this, but it's good-enough for basic usage. It might be good-enough for you. kmonad is less buggy but has fewer features (definitely enough for F7 though).

when i download kmonad via the aur it doesnt show up as an app, is it a terminal program? if so, how do i use it?
