Mechanicus: heavy breathing

Torment Nexus (or it will be as they scale up).

Serious ethical guidelines and research into pain etc., should be required, but capitalism.

Does that mean there are 5375 "data centers" in my head right now?

Where are the stats about storage, processing power, etc?

Clickbait bullshit.

Ah a small step for man, a giant leap for our matrix overlords!

the matrix plot would have made much more sense if they were using humans as bio CPUs rather than batteries… which they have to feed with food (energy).

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 15 points 14 hours ago

they were originally suppose to make them about cpu, but the directors assumed audiences wouldnt understand the references, it doesnt make sense since the robots can use nuclear power, geothermal energy, and wind.

The one they stole? Edit: I was recalling incorrect reporting from a decade past. More detail in the following thread.

Admittedly my recollection was vague. Here's the first link I found that is telling the story.
https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/strange-story-of-woman-who-successfully-sued-matrix-directors-plagiarism/ Seems like there was reporting about a decade ago that the claimant was successful in her plagiarism lawsuit when she really wasn't.
https://thingsthatkeepmeupatnight.substack.com/p/the-mother-of-the-matrix-and-the This goes more in depth to her claim and serves to underscore just how tenuous the claims of plagiarism/similarity are.

Edit: op didn't deliver, i looked it up. what a loon.

But what about Porthos?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

or the enterprise episode where the repair station AI used alien brains it kidnapped to increase its CPU power, permanently damaging the brains of the ones that stayed there the longest.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 5 points 15 hours ago

i don't have enough to spare any, sorry.

[–] quediuspayu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 17 hours ago

I wouldn't get too exited, it appears to run on baloney.

[–] Admetus@sopuli.xyz 7 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Needs to be called Magi (Neon Genesis Evangelion reference)

[–] quediuspayu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 16 hours ago

There are too many units, to be Magi it needs to be three. (Magi was a reference of three wise men of the bible or three magi)
