More that Lemmy is pretty lefty in general, so in our privacy communities lean more towards privacy as a defense against fascism. We're separated from the far-right weirdos that think any limits on their anti-vax screeds and sov-cit best practices FB posts are socialism incarnate by a wide gulf of people in the middle that have no idea about any of this.

Privacy also makes for strange bedfellows. Brave browser is another great example of something tied to far-right funding. We do have to each have our own tolerance level. Personally, I think it's insane for someone at a privacy-focused company to go public about anything political, ever. Do it in private, I don't care. But when you announce something like that to the world, it's beyond the pale.
