The more crises that happen simultaneously, the more likely it is that they all hit harder.
If AI was the only problem, then AI could just have a slight dip and recover. But since the global economy is getting hit from all sides at the same time... that's when each individual part doesn't have anything to fall back on. So each part is going to dip lower than it would have otherwise.

The Lesser Depression
The Lesser War started when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated.
