The last time they did a hard reboot it ushered in the greatest era of the show. Don't know why its unthinkable.
Take a break for a while and get some fresh thinking in there. Also allow fan interst to rekindle.
Doctor Who has never had a hard reboot.
And that's exactly the way they should handle it in 2036
