I wouldn't call that "unlocked," I'd call that "switched to Class 3 mode." Yours sounds like it's still a legal e-bike, which makes it categorically different from the ~~"fast e-bikes"~~ illegal e-motorcycles that are actually causing all the problems.

I'm assuming you're just being pedantic? It's Class 2 by default and you can unlock class 3 mode in the settings by going above 20 mph. I believe it even prompted me for confirmation but it's been years.
