Obviously Whitney Houston's version is amazing and her voice is incredible, but for me Dolly's version feels more real and somehow hits me harder. And obviously she sounds incredible as well. I probably heard Dolly's version first so that might play into it.
Dolly's version is a bunch of strong emotions you're just barely managing to hold back.
Whitney's version is a bunch of strong emotions you're absolutely letting out.
Both are incredible and deserved their spots at the top of the charts.
