Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Or maybe non-US folks should post more, to balance out the ratio lol

It's not about the ratio, when a post is specific to a location outside of the US, the OP includes the location 90% of the time. When yanks post stuff that is specific to the US, over half of the time they never mention that it is specific to the US. This platform would be so much more pleasant to use if yanks didn't assume that they were the default and were just as considerate of other users as everyone else is.

I guess the limeys have a real shit education system for not understanding that more limey posts means more limey posts to read. it's a shame really but unsurprising that the limeys would complain about there not being enough bureaucracy and how everyone should do it the limey way.

Look I've never heard the term limey before but from a quick google search it seems to be an archaic derogatory North American term for the British. I'm not British so this just reinforces the yank stereotypes about being clueless about the word outside of North America that you seem to have been offended by.

oh sorry, you probably prefer pom. or would you rather just be called convict?

Still not a pom... I don't know why you are being so aggressive but go off I guess, each to their own.

Be nice to the Americans, they don't get the best education over there and don't have the brain power to understand there's other countries.
