None of these people go after the united states as hard as they go after communists with absolutely no power.
Largest imprisoned population, massive exporter of war, hosts almost all the richest most exploitative capitalists in the world, props up dictators around the world, multiple instances of interfering with democracy because they didn't like the result, literally makes children swear allegiance in school, holds the world to ransom every time they don't get what they want, disregards international law.
Thinking it's basically ok with some tweaks? Wholesome chungus opinion.

It cannot be stressed enough that this figure is NOT PER CAPITA. The US has the largest total number of prisoners of any nation on earth. It's fucking obscene the scale of the US prison system. Unimaginably worse than the worst depictions of the soviet gulag system.

I've seen people just pretend with no evidence that it's China because lying seeseepee. I heavily disagree with the lack of transparency in the Chinese justice system, but people act like it entitles them to just assert literally anything.

Mind you, i'm not saying it's absolutely and definitely intentional, i can't know this. My point is that the more acceptable it is to hate somebody, the more this type of exposure takes on a certain dynamic. We need to keep in mind here how virulently anti-communist 196 is, this is absolutely baiting them whether it's on purpose or not.
This could have been a note in the modlog. That wouldn't have been less transparancy in any way. You do not need a show trial like this to remove an inactive mod.

This feud is just so annoying. Just to be clear, I'm not up to date on whatever drama or conflict happened last between the instances depicted, I just find it so stupid. lemmy.ml, lemmygrad and hexbear exist since earlier than probably 95+% of instances out there, and these .worlders act like we are the aggressors because we interact on the federated network they chose to use for their FOSS reddit alternative. There's a metaphor for colonisation somewhere in there, but I'm too tired to spell it out.
Edit: I see I fell for the meme. Still, my point stands for every time an actual .worlder or the like accused us of invading their online spaces
