Looks like a gov.uk site from the UI elements!

[–] lenny@feddit.org 8 points 1 day ago

You're correct! It's probably https://www.gov.uk/apply-renew-passport - you can see the crown in the bottom left corner of the screenshot

Most Slovakian government sites also look like this.

[–] NotSteve_@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago

Actually looks like Canadian government sites too

They're actually pretty good at fixing this sort of thing if it's reported. The whole digital gov thing has loads of money and the teams seem to be empowered to fix things.

Are these ui elements from the “incompletely loaded css” theme?

[–] f314@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The page in this exact screenshot is pretty bad, but their design system is actually very well researched and implemented!

It’s very stripped down, but that makes sense considering where it is used (important information and forms).

[–] Whelks_chance@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Deliberately so, so it can be rendered on a device from decades ago, or a mobile with no signal

[–] shads@leminal.space 3 points 2 days ago

Does the UK government outsource that sort of service?

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 2 points 2 days ago

“get a different photo” seems dubious. Don’t see them going with that.

[–] Brosplosion@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How is it discrimination? They have an option to continue and bypass the check. So quick to call foul

[–] chellomere@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah the "medical reason" they can't open their eyes more is due to being Asian

[–] Sadbutdru@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 day ago

Or "if you think the reason for the result is not correct" could cover it.

[–] one_old_coder@piefed.social 8 points 1 day ago

That's what they call "anime."

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 day ago

As an Asian, I had similar issues when renewing my passport.

You gotta give the camera the bug eyes. Go full-on Kash Patel of you can.

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 30 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Bonus points if it complains of poor lighting if you have dark skin.

[–] Slovene85@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

Extra bonus points if it tells you your character is still locked and you need more xp.
