Actually only 263 at the moment on my phone.

Why did tabs replace bookmarks? Do you not value your RAM? No, I don't care how many gigabytes of RAM you have, it doesn't invalidate my point. I have lots of RAM too.
i think modern browsers (at least firefox) doesn't keep background tabs all active in memory. my friend has like 200 tabs but memory usage isn't that huge.
Zero on my phone, zero on my PC
Average Netscape Navigator 4 enjoyer

Y'all are psychopaths
My phone tells me I have β open.
I'm not sure how to easily count on my computer (firefox), I have vertical tabs on, I have to scroll, and many of the tabs are in collapsed groups...
And before you ask, yes all the tabs are important and necessary.
I don't know. Firefox displays an infinity symbol after 99.
And I may have god knows how many inactive tabs. Ha!
Look. I don't come here to be verbally abused.
Shhh... We don't talk about those
All of them.
I have just tidied up a bit⦠my phone was on ~470ish tabs. (Btw, did you know that the limit in safari on iOS is 500 tabs?)
Now my phone has 50.
Work computer: 52 across 3 browsers, with 4 total 'tab groups'
Home computer: 22 with 1 browser and 3 'tab groups'
Phone: 0 (unless the new tab page counts that opens when I open my browser)
I have a tab group on my desktop with tools to maintain my Plex server. I think there are 4 tabs in it. That's collapsed, but there. Then I'll have the one tab I'm actually using, often a second tab on another monitor streaming music or video.
0 tabs on phone.
0 tabs on laptop.
Reading through these comments... There's a lot of psychos in here. Some of y'all have hundreds of tabs open. Why?
Phone: 71 (largely grouped, maybe 20 "independent" ones)
Desktop: ~700, spit into 6 windows, and grouped inside those windows, Vivaldi is a life saver if you're hording
Phone = 1701
Laptop = 6
Desktop = 0
four, anything more than a handful makes me anxious
Same, that's why I open more than 100 on my phone so the number disappears π¬
phone ~50
tablet ~30
pc ~20
work pc ~100
I used to be a no tabs person too, what happened ;-;
;)
Phone: 179 iPad: 148 Work laptop: 206 Personal laptop: 15
Only 29.
Well, 30 now that I opened this thread in a new tab.
But yeah. That's on the low side compared to usual for me.
(Firefox on a Raspberry Pi 4.)
Damn, I'm impressed that your rpi can handle that many tabs. Mine can only handle a few loaded pages at a time
My experience is that it has more to do with what's loaded in the tab than how many tabs are open. One tab can cause everything to run at like 1fps if it's bloated. ("Graphic design is my passion" kind of pages with tons of animations, usually.) But 100 Lemmy-UI tabs is no problem at all.
Home PC: 5
Phone: Infinity symbol
Work PC: 43
Phone: 59 Desktop: 400+ Luckily Firefox doesn't actually load all of those
Phone - 60 π
Desktop - 5
Laptop - 0 because it is off lol
iPhone: 499 Laptop: 0
And I was thinking I am really bad with my 6 opened... π
In the browser you ask? 194 + 9 incognito.
Phone just says β PC is 0 atm usually like 3-20
1 tab on my phone
18 tabs on my laptop across 4 virtual desktops
Phone: 72 π Laptop: ~25
Phone: 169 in Safari, inf in Firefox Computers: uhhhhhhh probably several thousand? It would take quite a while to get a number.
Probably 150-200 on my PC.
About 4 on my phone.
Yes I have a problem, no I don't wanna talk about it.
Hate to say it but I have probably 500 tabs opened combined
Phone = 3 on Fennec (Catodon Home Feed, the Lemmy global feed from a Lemmy instance and the Wiktionary definition for "sturgeon")
Laptop (where I'm currently) = 2 on Waterfox (Catodon writing this reply, and your Lemmy thread as seen from a Lemmy instance)
Phone = 1
Work PC = 100+ (most of them pinned and organized into folders)
Personal PC = ~10
On laptop, go until browser crashes in a loop.
One time, had to reboot three times so I could close some of the windows before they locked up.
PC = 1 Mobile phone = yes
:)
phone: 57 laptop: ~3ish
I have a bookmark folder called Zombie Tabs that I periodically tidy the zombie tabs into
Also there's a FF extension called Tab Session Manager that removes the problem of keeping hold of tabs entirely
