I have been reading a lot that 90% of their code is AI generated, companies are pushing developers to use AI as it makes them fast. But I am a little cautious of believing them. Is it true? Also sorry I didn't find a css career subreddit so I am asking here.

Ai does not make me feel joy or excitement about the future. Especially regarding the things I love (education, literature, art, music, silly nerdy computer hobby stuff, etc). Does anyone have any thoughts that may somewhat help me feel less dread? Do you think that the desire for human driven creativity, the desire to hold a physical book in your hand, or a physical paint brush, or to hang with your friends outside without cellphones will persist despite all the rubbish?

Or more generally, what gives you hope?

i love lemmy, don't get me wrong, i've been here since almost the beginning and it's possibly the best community in the internet for me. i know the people, we all more or less share the same ideas. etc.

but lately ive just been really into old websites, where it was mostly static, squared, that kind of thing. i just love the imageboard/chan aesthetic, but not the people. ive been lurking a bit in lainchan (which is mostly okay for a chan and has a really nice vibe) and neocities lately. i'd love if lemmy had a ui which looks like a chan.

Every time I search something like "Why is X bad?" on reddit or other forums, the majority of comments is always people arguing the exact opposite. This has been my experience countless times over the years. Recently I started searching the opposite of what I want to know, like "Why is X good?", and it works flawlessly.

Question for People Familiar with Sphinx Documentation

So, I'm making documentation for my project using Sphinx with hatch/hatchling. I'm currently using the sphinx-rtd-theme as my theme. I already make a quickstart page for my project, but the src directory page is included in the sidebar. I would like to rename it to "Source Files", but when changing the header in my modules.rst file, it gets reset each time I build.

The main extensions I'm using for Sphinx are 'sphinx.ext.todo', 'sphinx.ext.viewcode', and 'sphinx.ext.autodoc'.

For context, my project structure looks something like this:

Also, is there a way to reorder the list so my quickstart guide shows up above the source page?

Like when you set it to English in ya profile Settings you get this error message: "Warning: If you deselect Undetermined, you will not see most content.".

When you post, when you make communities, that setting is everywhere and it's just confusing the hell outta me and I'm scared to select English anywhere tbh

When I had it on English, I couldn’t even see any replies and comments at all anymore. Took me like a week to figure out why! 😱

Left this post on “Select language”, but when I added these last 2 sentences with the “Edit” option, without changing anything about the language, it gave me this error “Language not allowed” and I had to switch it to “English”.

After changing the language to "English" I was unable to see it from the 2 crossposts or the profile page. Like you can only see the crossposts from the original post, but the original post is not visible from the crossposts ;)

Had to press the "X"-button next to "Undetermined" to make comments and the "English" post appear again.

Just wanted to check some user reviews for a serie, now IMDB forces me to create an account. Such bullshit to read some reviews. No fucking way. Fuck corporate enshittification. Fuck IMDB. Fuck Amazon.

I quit for 2 months, many more to go, and while I don't have any cravings, I'm getting pissed at nothing, getting depressed, distro hopping, all in a day.

I started using Lemmy around the time of the Reddit exodus. I would like to keep connected to these communities but don't know if that's possible with the upcoming changes with Android.

Currently I'm using the Jeroba app on a Samsung phone. I would love to ditch Android and get a custom rom but don't know if it's worth all the problems of my banking/work apps not working.

When logging on recently I received a message saying that my app will stop working eventually as the developers are not agreeing with the changes. Is there another app that I can use? Should I just access lemmy using an old phone?

I know that Jury Duty is mandatory in both nations (USA all 50 states / Canada all 13 provinces) meaning citizens have to show up in person when they receive the "dreaded letter" via the mail telling them the date / time and court in which they have to attend, excusals exist if you manage to plead your reasoning for excusal with evidence.

I mean, have you received a summons from the court saying you've been chosen as a juror? There are penalities on failing to attend. If you were selected on being part of the jury, what is the experience like and how much are you paid? If you weren't selected on being part of the jury that time, is there a chance you can be summoned again at any given moment?

Neurodivergent people (i.e. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia) who have received the summons can plead their reasoning as to why they aren't eligible to be a juror only if they have medical evidence (diagnosis of their condition, psych report, doctors letter, medical certificate) explaining why their condition makes them unable to serve & etc.

Would it make a difference if the laws of physics prevent or allow a machine from operating in 'duplicate' mode?
