Most of the coffee shops in my city were closed yesterday. Only the big corporate ones were open, and they were pretty empty.

Labour days are a joke, it's pretty nice in countries where it's a day off but otherwise it's just a circus show for students and unions (who are completely subordinated by capital and act as a price indicator for labor power) to parade around for a few hours.
