What doesn't fit here?
The core of the story has to be technology focused.
- If article mentions "AI" in a sentence and then talks about business economics that doesn't make it tech news.
- Gaming is too many layers removed from technology. There are many dedicated communities that are a better fit for it.
- Transporation is too many layers removed from technology. EVs while use many cool technologies have many dedicated communities that are a better fit for it.
- Entertainment is too many layers removed from technology. While sometimes it can fit here, business or cultural aspects of it are a better fit for dedicated communities.
- Cybersecurity. While it heavily focuses on technology, most of the time it's too technical for most people who are not already invested in it. Should be posted in a dedicated communities unless it has broader connection to other tech areas.
Post guidelines
Title format
Post title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL format
Post URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefix
Opinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefix
Country prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

This is what insurance is for. He wont pay a dime over the deductible.
Pretty much every single insurance policy has a terrorism or war exception.
There are policies for both of those, but they tend to be much more expensive.
Some companies self insure.

I would especially expect that of a company like Amazon that's bigger than the insurers (and re-insurers) themselves.
The US government will just have tax payers give a bailout.
The premiums just went way up though, and at some point insurers will just refuse.

Back in the early 2000’s I worked at Akamai, and as part of my training I spent time in their Network Operations Center. They have equipment in literally thousands of data centers around the world, and rely on the datacenter staff for any physical work.
One day I was looking at old tickets in the NOC and found one that had been open for a few years and apparently abandoned. It was about an entire rack of gear at a small Midwest ISP that had stopped responding. The NOC staff had tried all their typical remote troubleshooting then reached out to the ISP for physical troubleshooting.
The last comment in the ticket stated that the datacenter had been destroyed by a tornado.
Why would they not close the ticket as "WONTFIX" or something in that situation?
My guess is that they hoped to eventually replace the equipment if/when the datacenter was rebuilt.

Unless it’s the only datacentre hosting critical infrastructure, then you can care, but not on a weekend.
