Nice, but it's funny how the logo looks like a very fat lion.

So much venom. That's weird. Because they are all useful to some degree or another.

I use Brave. (The free one. Obviously.)

And I use Vivaldi. And Firefox. And Waterfox.
And even Chrome.

I do a lot of work through browser-based utilities. I like to set one browser up with all my server clusters pinned. This is the Brave/Vivaldi role. It doesn't go online, just server mangement.
And I'll set up Chrome with all my work sites. Because that's the standard, and its gonna run all that work shit reliably. Login to my work google here.
And I want a dirty actual-browser with uBlock, SuperStop, and kill-sticky. Usually Firefox. Might get my personal gmail here.
If I'm on a machine where I need an additional role, or perhaps some extension that I don't want in my main browser, I install another browser to handle it.
They are tools, folks. Use em. Don't let them use you. Don't be a tool.
:]

This isn't meant to be a hate comment or anything like that, but a closed mouth don't get fed. I think it's good that there's discourse about this browser and every browser, pointing out the scummy things they do. If we didn't do that there would never be any backlash and most people who know these things now wouldn't know.

This comment section is a great example of tribalism. The topic of web browsers always is for some weird reason.

You can already disable all of that stuff in the regular version, right?

[–] H1AA6329S@lemmy.world -3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You don't need to pay anything if you go to the settings and disable them one by one. Brave is the best browser out there and only browser I have used since 2019.

I just switched to Brave because I was tired of Chrome stealing all my data and it seemed like a better browser from a privacy standpoint. I like it so far. Now I'm seeing all this hate about brave lol. I'm convinced Lemmy will hate everything I'm doing, no matter what that thing is

Sorry, can't hear ya over the sounds of Henry from Techlore taking Brave down the gullet.
