Texas allows you to open carry a sword.
It's not about protecting people from harm, but sin.
It's not about protecting anyone, it's about surveillance and an ability to blackmail/threaten anyone who steps out of line.
I'm not surprised given Texas's reputation. Big hats, big trucks, "don't mess with Texas"... yeah how about I just skip Texas entirely next time I visit the States. I hear some parts of it are nice, though, but hot isn't my thing.
Carrying a sword openly sounds awesome in theory but terrible in practice.
