And I remember the days when barely any hardware could run Linux. When lots of the interfaces looked like absolute shit and needed a mountain of configuration to even get running. Without commercial support Linux would have never gotten anywhere near the general purpose OS it is today. If you want a pure hobbyist OS run FreeBSD. If you haven't moved over there, I'm pretty sure you're just being a hypocrite.
