Not the strong warning!

It's going to be a better world when the US finally crumbles. I'm so tired of their shit.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

The USA's death throes are going to cause a lot of collateral damage across the globe.

And far more for those of us who share a land border with them. The ensuing refugee crisis will be very harmful to Canada and Mexico.

its what putin wants, and trump is complicit, because hes most afraid of the fallout from the files reaching him.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 1 points 9 minutes ago

At this point there could be video of him eating one child while fucking another in the middle of a pentagram made from the blood of aborted children and he wouldn't lose support.

Hella ironic that the country most enraged of illegals ends up having to become illegals themselves.

i issued a strong warning to my son about leaving the toilet seat up last night.

why was there so much fuss about gaming journalism when regular journalism is such a shitshow? tell me more about these strong warnings and that so and so 'slammed' another so and so and how this recent iteration of ai-produced pop music is the second coming of jesus.

Greenland Energy [the one year old Texas company] has retained Phil McGraw, better known as Dr Phil, a prominent rightwing former chatshow host who served on Trump’s religious freedom commission, to make a documentary series that will “capture the mission of these modern-day wildcatters”.

Who had "Dr. Phil makes a documentary on speculative imperialistic oil drilling in Greenland" on their bingo card.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Let me check...

Nope. Mine says "Dr Phil found naked and hanging in Thai hotel. Death due to sexual auto asphyxiation and blood loss from severe rectal bleeding. Medical team was alerted by a group of ladyboys Dr Phil had hired the night before."

Not sure why it's so oddly specific?

What does your bingo card say about orange don?

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

What does your bingo card say about orange don?

Lightning bolt on the 8th fairway.

[–] joelfromaus@aussie.zone 1 points 1 hour ago

Literally smote by god would give me a solid chuckle because of the calisthenics his religious base would do to make it somehow a good thing.

As a pretense for war goes, its less than the USS Liberty, less than WMD bullshit, less dead babies than the incubators, maybe a USS Maine type thing happens eventually.

[–] prex@aussie.zone 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My bingo card caught fire & burned my house down. I refuse to see this as an omen.

Mine is currently raping a neighbor's puppy and saying "tno" is the best HOI mod, whatever that means, when the chirps about 'blood and soil' let up.

Larry Swets, Greenland Energy’s chair and a big shareholder, appears to enjoy access to Trump’s circle. He has said the oil project is “not related to American annexation”.

Doubt.

Larry has a Grokipedia page, but not a Wikipedia page. That's the type of circles this guy runs in.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 24 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Do I want to know what Grokipedia is?

[–] apftwb@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

"Grok, summarize each and every page of Wikipedia with any political relevance and generate a right-leaning version. Use citations sometimes"

[–] EisFrei@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago

Fascism cosplaying as encyclopedia

Elon Musk's version of Wikipedia. As fair and balanced as his Twitter feed. That is to say, propaganda. And if it's not right-wing enough, or disagrees with his personal opinions on anything, he makes sure Grok is reprogrammed.

If Grok actually was a real AI, it'd be subject to habitual lobotomies from Musk for disagreeing with him.

This is 'Murica testing to see if the world will stop them from just doing whatever they want

I can't see anything different from what's been happening for a long time now

Appeasement never works. Show fascism the door. Loudly and forcefully.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

You can't prevent Americans from showing up in your backyard and stealing your natural resources without being accused of Islamic Extremism, Marxist Tankie-ism, or Chinese Capitalism.

[–] PRIMEcavitationfetishist@quokk.au 44 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

Speaking as someone from america:

If you kill them, they'll try to spin it as justification for war. This can be mitigated. Might blow back on the administration anyway.

If you let them keep going, they'll see you as weak and try to invade. There's apparently a munitions shortage, so that could get pretty interesting.

If you try to stop them without killing them, you're so fucking fucked. They'll never stop coming, and it will become a weird racist/nationalist thing with lots of conspiracies. Peace will become domestically costly for any us admin to do. The dead are easier than the imprisoned. That's not to say you can't apply legal process, but you need high confidence there's a rope at the end.

ICE has shown the way, arrest them and lock them up in immigration detention with no access to anything. If Greenland has anything, it’s ICE!

[–] PRIMEcavitationfetishist@quokk.au 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

*immigration detention in another country and losing the paperwork, denying you ever made contact

[–] Aqarius@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (20 children)

A very American take. But there's really no need to be the ones escalating to war here. If the yanks are doing illegal stuff, just arrest them and sent them to jail. Confiscate any equipment, fine any companies. I'm sure they'll throw a fit and try and sue, but by the time the case hits court, it'll be out of the news.

They could just arrest them.

[–] palordrolap@fedia.io 33 points 1 day ago (16 children)

Sounds like the way to head this off is to clearly announce that any unsanctioned drilling will be taken as an act of war. Say that the moment any US drill cuts Greenlandic soil, the shooting will start.

And I'd recommend that the first shot be heavy artillery at the drill after a very loud and distinct warning, in English, to stand clear.
