Yet some persistent media coverage of the prime minister’s comments – which were made last month on a podcast that encourages guests to shed any staidness – has elevated the matter to a crisis.
In what sense is i t a "crisis"? Right wingers went to the media out of desperation and the media is happily reporting on it because any controversy involving the prime minister, even a completely fake and manufactured one, brings in some revenue for them. No one who matters (i.e. Labor voters) actually cares about this.
The question can be answered with one word "Murdoch"
The Murdoch media and their fellow travellers doing what they do best - beat up trivialities.
Obama and his tan suit was the best one ever though
Conservatives drove the bar so low, they played their entire hand and nobody gives a shit anymore if someone else does something unsavory. We just say oh well, at least it's not as bad as _________ and you have unlimited choices to fill in the blank.
The only correct answer.
Because we have quite a few melon-heads in our media and public life?
If Tony Abbott said the exact same thing, these people would not complain.
i still think it's abhorent of the PM to mutter those melon comments. And Japan is somehow showing themselves as weak to consider the comment a non-issue.
Because it wasn’t the first time he brazenly sexualized a lady?
If you're talking about the fuck marry kill question that's not true at all
What?
Clarify your statement
I am out of the loop, how did he do this? Evidence if you have it.
This article says he said something about Kylie Minogue.
He didn't "brazenly" sexualise a lady.
Amid a lighthearted interview released late last week, in which topics included Albanese’s dog and gifts he’d received from world leaders, the host asked Albanese in a “rapid fire” question round to place Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman and Rhonda Burchmore in a “shag, marry, date” game.
Albanese was initially reluctant, responding: “I just got married, I’m only six months in.”
Osborne replied: “But if it goes tits up, let’s just pretend.”
Albanese then responded: “Kylie, clearly.”
Osborne persisted: “You’d marry Kylie, and shag her, and date her?”
Albanese replied “all of the above”, adding: “She’s terrific.”
He refused to answer initially and then reluctantly gave a pretty tame answer.
Isn't brazenly sexualising ladies one of Japan's primary exports, though?
I think so, which is why it’s a non-issue. Well, that and they prolly just don’t think that much about dumb jokes.
Still, if you’re an Australian lady, you prolly don’t want that representation.
