We can have sans fonts with a serifed I, surely

It is pronounced like that but they don't rhyme at all

Don't worry, the wiki editors removed it already

In the United States and other countries with 120V electricity

They are developing an operating system, they need a calendar. And while there are existing solutions, they aren't very good. The current bundled gnome calendar is rubbish as most gnome apps (I hope they replace their system monitor next)

Yellow is far more common than red, I see green occasionally

The best way of saying it would probably be a black person with a blue hat, which is probably also what most would say. Never heard someone think that black is offensive, unless you are saying a black, which is definitely not acceptable.

Where in Australia are you? I've never heard of gifted schools in Melb.

[–] eatham@aussie.zone 10 points 1 month ago

They've been doing it for years

CoMaps is definitely what you want. The search isn't the best, but the map design is better than Google's design which even at high zoom levels refuses to show many POIs and hides most of everything. CoMaps shows all POI possible without looking cluttered

OsmAnd is more for power users, it is slow and ugly but can do anything. I use it for bike routing with the external BRouter app, and it is far better than all other bike nav, but a bit of a pain.

Not properly, and without walk routing

Unfortunately, yes. They also bought target and made them have a shit store layout aswell.

This year the flag will be the same size as last years as we nearly finished it last year. It has a small aboriginal flag on it, a large bluey and the text aussie.zone in the bottom right.

Here is the template for this year: https://canvas.fediverse.events/#x=90&y=78&zoom=4&tu=https%3A%2F%2Faussie.zone%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2F93987250-cd08-4e21-9b00-dbd13669ffe4.png&tw=200&tx=0&ty=0&ts=ONE_TO_ONE

Before using it you will have to lower the transparency in canvas settings (and you'll have to wait for canvas to start :) )

We also have a matrix chat for the flag: #australiacanvas:matrix.org

Please allow others to place art on the flag and don't damage it unless it is another countries flag, covers the stars, union jack, bluey, or other important parts of the flag.

Does anyone want to help run the aussie flag on canvas this year (starting July 12th)? I have limted time right now and this year we are going to add aussie pixel art to the flag.

For people who want to make pixel art

Feel free to make or find some aussie pixel art and reply, note that the whole flag is 200x100 and the union jack and stars take up a lot of space so it shouldn't be massive.

Help wanted with adding the art to the flag

If someone could work on taking the art below and in the replies and placing them on the flag that would be great. If you want to, reply below so we don't duplicate work and have multiple people doing it. Ensure that the pixel art does not cover the stars or union jack.

Here is the base image for the flag: Australian flag 200x100 which is 200x100 pixels.

Resources

Here is last years template if you want to see it. I will make a new template this year with the pixel art and flag at 200px by 100px.

Current pixel art

Bluey and bingo pixel art: https://aussie.zone/post/11696592/10403326 and https://diycandy.com/bluey-perler-beads/ (see happy bluey and happy bingo)

The flag is basically complete, aside from art and the rainbow checkerboard. Thank you to everyone who helped!

Special thanks to @veroxii@lemmy.world, @emperor@feddit.uk , and @ianbkulin@c.im who did a very large amount of the flag.

Here are most of the other people that helped. Sorry if i missed anyone, i can't check every pixel.
