I get the point of it, but the fake X button is more infuriating.

I wish there was an option "Maybe". Not because I"m maybe interested, but just not to give them a straight answer and pollute their data. I don't want them to know that I'm not interested.
I'm pretty sure the "show less ads from this company" button on YouTube actually shows you more ads from that company
This is how I feel about the βshow fewer shortsβ button
There is an option to 'hide the shorts shelf' on the website. And if you are on the app I'd suggest switching to the revanced project's patched version which also has a 'remove shorts' option.
Especially cause we all know it's impossible to not be interested in "Crazy Sand: Bus fever"!
Enshittification.
Enslopification
It sounds a bit ridiculous to think that these ads can be enshittifying, but holy shit have they gotten so much worse over the past 1-2 years.
I play one mobile game and used to watch the ads for some daily rewards. They used to be 5-30 seconds, and then back to the game. I have not intentionally watched them for a long time, but sometimes I accidentally click the button. I usually just kill the app because there's no other way to get out of the ad. Now they are no less than 1 minute long, many require you to interact with it somehow, at the end most will have a required button to redirect to the play store page, and when going back to the ad, you have to click this 'Not interested' button for the 'x' in the corner to popup. There's a real chance you'll misclick right next to the x taking you back to the play store. It really is just a cancer.
