A few weeks have passed, but I just read this comment and found it very insightful and of personal interest. Thank you for sharing it.

2 days later, I have nothing to add, because this is a matter of fact and possibly even scientifically verifiable

Others have already responded to your question more directly, but I also wanted to encourage a few other options for you and other people considering a bring-your-own-domain. You may have already navigated these, but I wanted to show how you are probably NOT overthinking it!

It will depend on your setup or chosen platform, but you don't necessarily need to use the 'recipient' addresses as your actual login address or 'real' mailbox address. As others described, you can have your kitchenware retailer and your government accounts send to their own dedicated addresses but have them land in the same mailbox. If you encounter a situation where you specifically need to send correspondence from that address, you can set that up later.

A connected but separate consideration is how you want your mailbox(es) to be organized. Do you want to read all of your email in the same mailbox, or do you want to separate human correspondence from services/machine mailings? Do you want to consolidate all of your Sent and Archived mail in the same mailbox, or separated? Do you want to have a completely isolated login address, or are you comfortable sharing that address with mailing use cases?

Again, some of these options may not be available with your given vendor, but it is possible with many of them. Your decisions will be based on your spam management goals, security goals/threat model, and your own workflow and email storage preferences. Have fun :)

I don't know if you should worry about pretension. I have had similar thoughts and feelings, and I mostly chalk it up to a lack of economic activity.

This is not just in response to the condition of the built environment but for emptiness of the streets as well - there are plenty of people that live in this or that neighborhood, but it seems everyone is inside on their devices. I love content just as much as the next guy, but if we (Western core perspective) had a healthier society and a healthier economy, I think that you would see more people out doing something productive (either economically or socially).

Thanks! I had heard mentions of that memo, but hadn't read on it...

Regarding point B, this is not static. Socialists have been steadily working to improve the level of class consciousness in the US Empire, and this is having slow and steady results. It’s why there is a dialectical reaction to these new developments.

In this context, what is the clearest example of a dialectical reaction? I assume that the targeting and absorption of BLM and heightened class-based economic warfare are examples..?

Thank you for your study and writing!

Interestingly, you can lurk and learn at the same time 👍 (spoken as a professional lurker)

Lemmygrad is a great community of people. I hope that everyone who takes the time out of their day to post here continues to do so with thought and intention. It's one of the few sites I visit anymore because it feels like the people who post with a @lemmygrad.ml after their name are very caring and thoughtful people, and I feel like I actually get something out of the few scrolls of sort=New that I do, whether its something that I learn, or an encouragement that I receive to do better.

Great meme btw

ohhh. thank you for this. i definitely have uncritically gobbled up the outrage on this topic, but this is a more valuable framing.

It's time for your swamp draining!

🇺🇸 Yes, honey...

At a really general level - you do know that you're posting this to a forum, right? Are you posting here to engage with other people, or are you just posting to fulfill your vanity?

I don't mean this in a snide sort of way. I hope that you can consider opportunities in future to be more charitable to people who are spending their time reading what you've posted and writing responses. It's genuinely feels better to engage that way than to assume the worst of people, and to treat them like they are purposefully antagonizing you.

We're living in a time when it seems people are identifying their own Sinophobia or anti-China programming, and of course there is something similar going on with the Zionist state.

What are productive ways to talk about North Korea if you must? Some ideas I have:

  • 'I like positive depictions of North Korean people/Korean culture'
  • 'Regardless of what you feel about any place's government, it is always good to see an increase in standards of living'
  • any remarks or analysis about sanctions, for example talking about how sanctions don't actually accomplish the popularly ascribed goals, but instead directly target the most vulnerable people in a society (with the stated goal of "making the people dislike their government" as if that is not the most mask-off thing politicians say)
  • maybe some framing of Korea as a land that has been under occupation for 75 years straight if that resonates

Thoughts???

I know this post is a few weeks old but I just learned about Posadism like fifteen minutes ago and then I saw this post and I think that's great timing on my behalf
