I told my wife the vit C level and size of an individual fruit and she said exactly what I was thinking. "Depending on the person that means just one berry is enough to cause diarrhea."
That's a mighty powerful poo juicer.
Not at all honestly, I've never seen anyone pooping their pants off after eating them. I actually got curious about it, but I was unable to find the scientific evidence of laxative effects from Malpighias
If I were to guess, all the fiber and food matrix helps slow down the absorption rate of the vit C, which prevents the laxative effects that you might have when you ingest those pills from the store
The effect of a vitamin C overdose is diarrhea. For an adult this usually kicks in at around 2000mg of vit C. For kids it's less. But usually the time people consume that much vit C is when they are already sick and likely to have that symptom confused with part of the illness.
