They're not even similar shows beyond being set in a hospital, having lots of long takes, and having one actor in common.
Hmmm. Thats actually a lot of similarities. It also doesn’t help that the network had started an ER reboot until they couldn’t reach an agreement with Crichton’s estate.

Let’s see if this one settles out of court.
ER was more of an interpersonal drama show in a medical setting. The Pitt is much more about medicine and social issues.
ER was all about social issues and medicine lol.
