What's the advantages of Osmium? In general I don't think it's a good idea to move from one closed-source system (Discord) to another (Osmium) since they'll eventually enshittify it too.

Since you're already using one Fediverse platform (Lemmy), have you considered using Matrix?

Osmium Isn’t completely closed source, they have plans to open source the client and they have the libraries and apis all open source. The only thing they are currently keep closed source is the server software it runs on. I have tried matrix it isn’t exactly user friendly and I find it hard to manage large communities on matrix
