The specific example here is not a slur, variations of it are not banned either. You can say degeneration or just call someone a degen
the r-slur is a slur, calling something r-sluration doesn't erase the impact of the word on someone. And that's what the point of a filter is, to minimize impact.
edit: Oh I guess we're talking about specific words and not the word filter in general. Well calling someone a degen is pretty sus so I'm not too worried about some discussion having to work around it.
But the thing that is sus is the thing that's allowed.
I mean all kinds of words are allowed, or rather not blocked. I still don't understand the problem here
