I know this is the sad reality at most companies but when I put someone on a PIP I 100% expect them to improve and recover from whatever got them in the PIP.
Guarantee you there’s a non zero chance you are the reason for their pip.
I’ve been a cpo, a cdo, a head of design, a design mgr and an individual contributor. The sad reality is that rarely has a pip corrected anything and mostly it is used to push out individuals… individuals that often contribute great things.
You work with people you want to succeed… others throw them to the wolves and it’s called a pip.
I’d love to hear the situation that describes otherwise?

Possibly spoken like a true product manager? Reality is we are likely both in the meme because we are both acting rational in a world that has lost its mind.
