Why are all of the worst atrocities committed in the name of God? Chineses and the mandate of heaven. Whites and emminent domain. Whites (again) and the crusades. Whites (a third time) and the third Reich. It's always God somehow telling them that murder is fine.
Part of convincing people to murder others is justification.
