I never watched an X-men, nor the old Dune, so for me Patrick Stewart is Jean-Luc Picard.

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Agree! When I see him in other things I'm like "oh hai Picard"

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

Voice of Avery Bullock in American dad. In Picard show, is his age caught up to him and he looks super disinterested and tired

Jason Alexander is cemented in my memory as George Costanza.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Even when he’s a lizard bartender on The Orville

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

Or the genius alien in voyager, think tank episode. I think Seinfeld is worst off though, it make sense considered what kind of person he is nowm

[–] BowserBasher@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sarah Michelle Gellar will always be Buffy Summers to me.

I somehow missed Buffy growing up, so my first exposure was of her as Daphne in the Scooby Doo movie.

I think now that I've watched a lot of Buffy, those two balance out for me.

Roger Moore as Bond - he wasn't the best Bond, just that he played that character for like 30 years, starting with The Saint in the 60's.

Once you see him there, it's hard to see him as anything else.

[–] DeuxChevaux@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy as Kirk and Spock in the early Startrek films and series.

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 12 points 1 week ago

Same for Brent Spiner as Data.

[–] justsquigglez@leminal.space 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Lucy Lawless will forever be Xena the Warrior Princess.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

She was great in BSG, although she didn't get many episodes.

Since 1995, I’ve always associated Ian McKellan with his iconic portrayal of Richard III.

Which colored my impression of Lord of the Rings a bit.

Now is the winter of our discontent, but that is not for us to decide....

Mac from IASIP. Saw his picture with his son and immediately got thinking 'place away this psycho from a child'

His plastic surgery made him look all strange, and he's pretty pretentious as a person too, and addicted to the Hollywood lifestyle. If you watched the interviews he given over the years you will know. Associating himself with Ryan Reynolds because he wanted the ted lasso fandom, and a famous retire American football star.

Even his fans on the isaip subreddit was thrown off by Rob and Kaitlyn appearances

Danny Trejo is of course Machete (or Uncle Machete to the Spy Kids) - even if he does occasionally rangle Rancors or other roles.

(But only when I can see him. I had no idea he had that many voice roles until looking him up just now)

[–] Zwuzelmaus@feddit.org 8 points 1 week ago

Sarah Jessica Parker is Carrie Bradshaw.

[–] mintiefresh@piefed.social 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Jaleel White is forever Steve Urklel.

Alfonso Ribeiro is Carlton.

For me, it's David Tennant as The Doctor. It was very strange seeing him in Good Omens.

[–] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Idris Elba and Dominic West will always be Stringer Bell and Jimmy McNulty for me.

Easy... Arnold as Terminator.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Daniel Radcliffe.

After seeing Swiss Army Man, I can never not see him as a useful corpse. He nailed that role.

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 week ago

David Dastmalchian will always be Joker's thug/Fake Cop from The Dark Knight.

[–] Fletcher@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Ian McKellan is Gandalf, and I will fight anyone to the death who disagrees.

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)
[–] Fletcher@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

While he did a decent job with Magneto, I would say that his Gandalf is far more recognized.

Ryan Reynolds Van Wilder

Kind of obscure, but Brits of a certain age will always think of Alan Dale as "Jim from Neighbours". Another one being Guy Pearce as "Mike from Neighbours". Pearce has had a slightly bigger career than Dale maybe, but you've almost certainly seen them both in popular movies and TV shows.

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Peter Lustig. But he also played himself and had full power over his show.

Martin Freeman as Bilbo

Til Schweiger as his arrogant asshole self

[–] myrmidex@belgae.social 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Dude, Walter, Donnie and the Jesus from The Big Lebowski. Whenever I see Turturro play any other role, he's so bland and normal.

[–] Nusm@piefed.zip 9 points 1 week ago (4 children)

For me Turturro will always be Pete from Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.

“Do not… seek… the treasure.”

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 6 points 1 week ago

I think if you watch Severance, he does a really good job of changing your perspective, because I had the same feeling going into Severance, and now I feel different.
