Idiocracy, here we come.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

“What’s this? IT’S BERNIE SANDER WITH A STEEL CHAIR!”

[–] Beebabe@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

I’m not sure how satire outlets can write headlines anymore tbh.

[–] PartyAt15thAndSummit@lemmy.zip 11 points 16 hours ago

Well, as they say, if you put a clown on the throne, he does not become king. The palace becomes a circus.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 55 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Idiocracy is now a fucking documentary.

How much you want to wager, the "mainstream" media will be sporting a boner over this gala event?

[–] oppy1984@lemdro.id 61 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

I really wish people would stop saying Idiocracy is a documentary, it's not. President Camacho was able to see his shortcomings and hired the smartest man in the world to fix things, that's not happening in real life.

Idiocracy is something for us to aspire to.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 hours ago

But we did hire the smartest man in the world:

Elon Musk

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Office space is still a documentary right?

[–] oppy1984@lemdro.id 9 points 1 day ago
[–] Steve@startrek.website 7 points 1 day ago

Been saying this for a year now

[–] nthavoc@lemmy.today 114 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Idiocracy achieved. Mike Judge is a time traveler disguised as a comedic writer and tried to warn us.

[–] Mamdani_Da_Savior@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And we thought he was joking

"Nobody will ever wear these" Costume designer

[–] AtariDump@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

They’re actually not horrible.

[–] oyo@lemmy.zip 10 points 16 hours ago

That's the only thing he got wrong... Now it's "Welcome to Amazon, we absolutely hate you and you have no other choice."

[–] Thistlewick@lemmynsfw.com 40 points 1 day ago (1 children)

For context, his Big Idiot Bill passed, but polling on it has been horrendous. This is another distraction.

[–] Kickforce@lemmy.wtf 6 points 1 day ago

Of course it's a distraction "panem et circenses" for the people! It's so close to old Rome you might throw in a Roman salute here and there.

[–] timewarp@lemmy.world 57 points 1 day ago (4 children)

And in 2030 he'll be having immigrants fight to the death for their freedom.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I feel like a more realistic timeline for that is 2027 at the very latest

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 7 points 1 day ago

It wouldn't surprise me if it happened next week.

[–] DrDickHandler@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They are not winning freedom. Winner gets a pillow for 1 night in Alligator Auschwitz.

[–] ganksy@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

never undersestimate crack strength.

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Plot twist, death is their only freedom

[–] grysbok@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 day ago

Didn't Stephen King write a novela about that?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Bringing back mandingo fighting

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are we finally gonna get the Musk vs Zuckerberg showdown?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

musk's MOM gave him a hallpass to excuse him from it. doubt he can fight an ANDROID like zuckerberg also knowing BJJ.

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

fucking of course.

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

This feels really psychotic. All of this really makes me want to question reality. Are we in a simulation? Are we an experiment by an advanced alien race, and they're tweaking parameters to study us?

Trump is like a grade school bully, in a lord of the flies scenario. He's got all this power and he's bringing in his bully friends and they're doing shit grade school bullies would do with all this power.

And all the people who voted for him...

None of this makes any sense. The end is nigh?

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 30 points 1 day ago

Based on Musk's black eye, I would say that Trump's White House has allready seen at least one fight

[–] TuffNutzes@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Biff Tannen has become president.

[–] TwinTitans@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Trump VS Obama? I’d fucking watch that.

[–] alucard@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

I'll allow it!

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

it would be quite difficult for trump to even walk, especially like a centaur, and his pants is full of shit.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

Can we please stop getting sidetracked by "trump might eat green cheese 2026" please?

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago

I hope it's as successful as his birthday party

[–] b161@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The White House lawn will be turned into a monster truck track next.

Why not? Honestly why not? I would at least be entertained.

[–] Bustedknuckles@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Rehabilitation!

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 6 points 1 day ago

This is some hick-ass shit.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

This is how we get real life to look like a video game. Imagine page boys and interns in their little suits hooting for martial violence like the background of Street Fighter. What a time to be alive.
