If you duslike AI coding, you should see it write

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 5 points 7 hours ago

I "develop" software using codex/Claude. I am so so so so sick of the way Claude writes I think I'm going to puke.

You HAVE seen it write. You have definitely seen it write poorly. However, you've also seen it write at a level where you didn't even notice it wasn't human written.

Just because something CAN produce bad output does not mean it can only produce bad output.

I can produce excellent output. I am also fully capable of producing slop. I'm human btw.

I think any thing over 3 paragraphs I can tell every time. Im hearing it in youtube scripts. The word 'honestly' comes up far to much. As well as the phrase 'not X but Y'.

Sure, but it's not the CEO that makes the AI produce good texts. It was the copywriter that just got fired.

[–] BlameThePeacock@lemmy.ca -3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

With the right skills built out first, the CEO absolutely could be the person doing that.

[–] LilB0kChoy@reddthat.com 8 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

And then they’d be called a copywriter.

[–] BlameThePeacock@lemmy.ca 1 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Not if they're the only employee left... still CEO.

[–] abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 hours ago

Self-employed coppy writer

[–] LilB0kChoy@reddthat.com 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Then they’d be the janitor too.

[–] BlameThePeacock@lemmy.ca 0 points 9 hours ago

That is correct.

You're absolutely right!

I’ve heard from copywriters who now fear losing their apartments, one who turned to sex work,

One of these jobs is not like the others!
