Screw off the vent cap of a tire, find a really small piece of gravel, put it in the lid, screw it back on ever so slightly, so that you hear air leaving the vent.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

always do this to at least two tires.

Most cars have 1 spare on board, not 2.

[–] modus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As a full-time asshole, I carry four spares.

[–] Frenchgeek@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Just park next to someone with the same kind of wheels as yours. No need to carry four spares.

[–] modus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I actually had a friend almost do something like this once. He hit some kind of metal object that pierced both his tire and wheel. He had a donut, but was tinkering with the idea of stealing the wheel off a nearby car of the same make and model. I don't think he followed through, but I'm sure it was tempting. It probably would have confused the person he stole it from too.

Probably key the boot as I squeeze past

[–] vrighter@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 23 hours ago

chainsaw? not what I'd do, but it is what i'd be picturing

Have my wife wheel me over to where the license plate # is in view and post that bad boy to social media with a sympathetic title like "we had to take a huge detour because we couldn't get my wheelchair around this truck", grab some popcorn and watch as people form a digital witch hunt. Then call the police to have it towed.

[–] TheOakTree@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

I was going to say, having a wheelchair on hand would make a great way to scrape the hell out of the rear of the car with plausible deniability.

Your idea is probably better.

Call a tow truck company and get the spotter's fee reward.

Is it parked like that regularly and overnight? If so, well, you can buy a knockoff battery powered Makita angle grinder off Aliexpress for very little money and it's very useful to own one anyway, especially if you also own an old car where bolts keep rusting shut so bad it's easier to cut things off.

In this instance, I'd recommend doing just the tow hitch. If you get caught there's less damages to pay, it creates enough space for most people to pass, and the owner of the truck will probably get the message. Plus it would take way too long to cut off any part of the bed

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm sure af nice sanding of the offending parts of the car would send a message?

Take a picture of it and post it on social media for likes.

Call the city line and report illegal parking. They will at least get a nice ticket, and if you're lucky, they'll get towed :)

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 1 day ago

Annoyingly, in the jurisdiction I live, the driver will get your address if you report it

Fantasize about violence. Probably no real action other than banging into it when walking on the sidewalk.

How thoughtful, they've brought me a canvas for my keys.

Come back and search for a bat 🤑

[–] wolfeh@lemmy.blahaj.zone 47 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Deflate the tires and use the truck bed as a trash can and/or porta potty.

Ball style tow hitches are usually removable by a very visible cotter pin! Free ball hitch!

The icing on the cake is having the hitch ball mounted when they've probably never towed anything in their life. Make problems, and destroy some people's knees at the same time.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oof yeah, I didn't even notice that. I woulda totally wacked my shins on it. It would leave a bruise for weeks, and probably ruin my pants with grease too.

Fuck this asshole. I'd put nails in front of his back tires so when he drives away he gets two flats. Stupid games, stupid prizes.

[–] Minnels@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Do you always carry nails in your pocket?

[–] speckofrust@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 23 hours ago

No, but now that you’ve given me the idea…

I'd just complain about it and tale a picture. I don't fuck with other people's stuff.

[–] EveningPancakes@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I'd take a sharp object and write the following notes on their door:

"Hi there, I was going to write this note on paper but I didn't have any on me so I figured this was the next best option. Anywho, just wanted to let you know that your car is parked on the sidewalk and blocking people from walking safely away from the street. I know it was probably an accident, so no biggie! Just wanted to let you know for next time so you can be mindful of others. Have a great day, friend!"

Bonus points - If I have them on me, bb pellets and super glue. You take the air stem cap off their tire valve, put in a drop of super glue and then a bb pellet. Screw it back on. It will slowly leak air out overtime, and the driver will go crazy trying to figure out why that tire is slowly letter air out.

[–] CactusEcho@piefed.social 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I hate these fuckers. This happens a lot in my home town. I was young i just cursed the fuckers and kept going. Nowadays i would deflate the tire.
