People using early access software as if it’s complete has been a thing since forever.
PuTTY still isn’t v1.0 and that’s been around 27+ years. Hasn’t stopped it becoming the defacto SSH/SCP client for Windows.
Compiz never made it to v1 and was used by basically every Linux desktop environment back in the day.
Neovim, MAME, mpv, fzf; same story.
It doesn’t matter how much a developer stresses something isn’t complete yet, that is meaningless to the adoption rate by users.
Same thing with games. If anything, I prefer things the way they are vs countless games never seeing the light of day because they’re not “done”.
It’s on the user to accept the state of release, not the developers, not the platform, not the package manager.
😂👌👍 the hoops and semantics talk will jump though. Using putty as an example 😂, thank you for that. We should all hope that all software comes out with the high quality polish of putty and other utilities that are all given out for free.
You must be fun at parties.
