Yes, prior to Windows Mobile, it was literally named "WinCE". Still the most amazingly obtuse OS name in programming history.

The Fairphone 6 and 6+ is something to keep an eye on, specifically with TheMightyCat's build of postmarketOS. It's almost fully functional with a close-to-mainline kernel, unlike Jolla phones and UBPorts, which both rely on Android kernels which will eventually stop being supported.
Jolla phone is pretty good.

PinePhone did what most other Pine64 things do. Fizzled out.
I got a pixel because I heard I can install Graphene OS on it and when I got it I couldn't enable OEM unlocking. We're being cornered.
Did you get a carrier unlocked phone?
I had to return the phone TWICE for exactly this problem. I bought a specifically unlocked phone, and got a locked one twice, directly from Google. They just do not care.
You bought a carrier-locked device. You need an unlocked one.

Don't buy from Verizon or any carrier that locks bootloaders on phones, usually used global Pixels are the best choice
You need to buy an "unlocked" model. They sell carrier-locked devices at a discount so that they can install spyware on them, and then lock them down so you can't remove it or take it to another carrier.
Well if you don't like either you can always go for the paid sailfishOS, or a free linux experience like Ubuntu touch / postmarkerOS...
They're just not accessible enough for the average user, and banking on them is suffering
