I really want to pet a tiger though. Even if its the last thing I do
weeelllllll, you can do the slightly drugged Tigers in places like Thailand, ketamine and fed I assume before you're allowed to pet them? because you're not petting one any other way ...at all.
As to the ethics of that, welllll, we destroy their habitat and have nearly made them go extinct and that seems perfectly acceptable, soooo. Just to be clear I have not done this personally.
You definitely can but it takes a long time and you have to say "chhfchhffchff" not "psspsspsspss" because that's not tiger language.
Essentially you have to be around when the liger is born.
