I started seeing people doing the same thing on Reddit and Lemmy.

Picture of Palestinian kid starving with a title calling for the readers to not forget.

Let me be clear here, I support the cause. But I don't like manipulation.

This is kind of sketchy to me.

Is there is a current news/ research about this?

There is always a social media propaganda campaign going on. On just about any subject you can think of. Is this really the first time you're noticing? You do know that governments, political parties and corporations employ people whose only job is to study and manipulate social media trends, right? What do you think a social media 'influencer' is?

The only propaganda campaign happening on social media right now is Israel’s ongoing attempt to justify its crimes against humanity. I’m sorry if the reality of the Palestinian genocide makes you uncomfortable, that must be difficult for you.

OP really can't imagine that the majority of people think genocide is a bad thing...

That's how much actual propaganda some people have swallowed.
