Off topic, but is this a meme image? Or someone who is well known? I did a reverse image search and came up with nothing.
Maybe the problem is more infinite waste rather than finite resources?

Sure, I'm saying if we stop wasting so much (infinite growth, which is an oxymoron), consumption can be more easily managed.
I'd argue we shouldn't base our whole society on consumption in the first place.
I don't think we're disagreeing, I think I'm failing to communicate clearly. My apologies.

Remember that the Roman empire ultimately fell because it expanded too much and couldn't keep control, caused mainly by the Roman ideology of unlimited conquest. We literally haven't evolved our societal theories beyond Rome.
