I loved last.fm. Used it for like a decade until I stopped caring about logging every time I listened to something. Was real good at finding music I liked. I used to view it as a reflection of me and then I got older and stopped caring about public reflections of myself
I still use it, to find new music recommendations.
I'm ditching it for listenbrainz since those social capabilities are useless for me. My use case is actually for logging and storing info, not publishing it.
I still use it with plexamp which autoscrobbles to last.fm.

Discovered some cool German bands back in college because of last.fm
Does it even still exist? I loved it back then. I never (consciously) did that "scrobble" thing, but I listened to it a lot and found new music there.

Ah, I just checked. It looks like you can no longer listen to music directly on last.fm, only from other sources like YouTube or Spotify. Well, times change.
