Trade war with Canada has contributed to a significant decline in U.S. liquor sales

Jim Beam, owned by Suntory Global Spirits, is one of Kentucky’s biggest bourbon producers.

Kentucky went for tRump by 64.47%. Guess they're getting what they voted for.

Why do people keep saying this is a leopard/face moment?

The Japanese owners have been very public about how tariffs would decrease foreign sales, and foreign buyers aren't going to be but American anyways...

Because the people directly affected are statistically likely to be majority Trump voters.

Independent brewers and distilleries have increasingly been getting gobbled up by big internationals. Diageo being one of the biggest for example.

Because in a democracy that owner has not actually many votes. Unlike all the employees who -given results in Kentucky- probably majorily voted for Trump and are now losing their jobs because of it.

Fair. While companies like Toyota are still family companies. Every asset that America had has been sold for profit. It's very fitting. Like a formerly prosperous family, our country and its independence has been pawned off for a quick buck to ensure the line continues to go up. As long as we can pretend we still have prestige, we won't know the difference, right?
