TL;DR: There's a mod on their instance, @_cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com. The mod in question says, "all 27 million Soviet citizens killed by the nazis deserved it." This was 9 months after having been educated on the fact that that number includes many civilian holocaust victims. The server owner, db0, thinks these are cool views to express and not indicative of nazism. The server owner got very mad that we called for this nazi to be banned, and pretended we were making this all up.
Not to defend cryptagion, but for added context, his claim is that he thought those were just Red Army deaths. Using this, though, the most charitable reading of his comment, we still see the following:

The millions of civilians that joined the Red Army to defend their homes and family from genocidal onslaught deserved it

The tortorous methods by which the Nazis executed prisoners was justified, because the victims were communists

The mass starvation inflicted on the soviets by the Nazis taking Ukraine, the USSR's breadbasket, was justified because the Red Army retook Ukraine
And more. Harboring someone and protecting his mod powers in the name of "anarchist critique of the soviets" is just Holocaust trivialization, full-stop, and makes anarchists seem like Holocaust trivializers in general if this is what passes as "anarchist critique."

So, I'm a tankie user from Hexbear. db0 and hexbear are not federated because, to db0, tankies in hexbear are synonym with redfash and nazbol, and to hexbear, db0 are libs. Db0 democratically choosing to defed from feddit is something that positively surprised me and I wholeheartedly support.
