OP, for future reference, any post without a source is subject to removal. This is yours: https://futurism.com/klarna-openai-humans-ai-back

There are better sources like the TechRadar one this Futurism article cites, but it's not bad enough to get removed for Rule 2 or anything.

I thought it was that Klarna thing. I just hope there's more companies that come to similar conclusions.

As long as the companies actually hire people with living wages instead of this

Now, the company says it imagines an "Uber-type of setup" to fill their ranks, with gig workers logging in remotely to argue with customers from the comfort of their own homes.

Because they still don’t want to fucking pay people real wages even after realizing the value of real people

sigh...

And even that is better than outsourcing it to people from a far-away low income country.

But still, fuck the gig economy and forcing people into fake self-emplyment.

It's all so fucked up.

Oops - I thought I had put a link on it 🤦 Fixed now!

"What you end up having is lower quality."

Gosh, who could see such a thing happening? It was totally impossible not to be blindsided by this. Literally nobody, ever, warned that this was likely.

So... how are they feeling about the folks who sold them on the AI in the first place?

Those fine people are still working day in and day out trying to help me eliminate the awful labor aspect of my company. The pie chart says labor is a big cost for me. I understand pie chart, and I don't like that

I hope they get the workers they deserve.
