Yeah, but he'd still be dead. Being a martyr isn't the opposite of that!

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

That's why the only people trying to kill him are his own disgruntled supporters.
I'm having a hard time believing that any individual has tried to assassinate him at this point, the media has shown hapless and thin veiled proof to this day. It seems a non serious leader attracts non serious would be assassins, those who strangely hold the same right wing leanings. - it just seems like a handful of events promoted for distraction.
I feel like the types of people who are smart enough to succeed also understand it's not a guarantee you'll get away with it or survive. Most people want to survive.
Yeah you don't just go for the biggest prize in the forrest and expect to wake up anymore.
That's not how cults work generally. The leader is the leader because of some charismatic attribute. Most of the followers are followers because they can only follow. They don't have the charisma to lead the cult. Watch any of his underlings when they deign to interact with people outside the cult. It's awkward, weird, and usually leaves you feeling uncomfortable. Within the cult they might have somewhat of a commanding presence or ability to hold cultists attention, but they are useless for growing the cult. And that's the rub. Cults die without new members, especially ones that are primarily made up of the elderly, eschew typical medical advice, and live unhealthy lifestyles.
Add on to that, trump doesn't seem like the type to "pass the torch". So I imagine once he goes, there will be a greedy and hateful power vacuum that rips through the republican party (especially if it's while he's still in office).
I agree with this. I hope he brings the whole party down with him when he inevitably croaks.
It depends on how the aftermath is managed. The right will stop at absolutely nothing to basically canonize Trump after he's gone and the left will be completely clueless about how to respond.
Well, looks like we found the author of this reality, with how spot on you probably are.
God dammit. I hate how correct you are.
there are people so far to the right that they prefer him as a martyr instead of letting him make the right look terrible to everyone who isn't a cultist. they prob also want to make room for a more committed and smarter fascist to lead.
Let's test that theory, shall we?
I refuse to believe he'd become a martyr. His followers are too dumb to remember him enough.
Agreed. Maybe if it happened during the campaign when people might remember "what could have been" but not now after they've seen what a joke he's been.
They have a golden statue somewhere...
Thanks. I forgot about that.
They bought merch. They aren't going to forget.
I hate life
