They had generational majorities and the public support and mandate to actually save the UK from itself, but the entire leadership were handpicked neoliberal ghouls who were only there to drive out the left from every level of the party, so now the UK is seeing a collapse into fascism as everyone just waits out the clock until the next election.
It's like seeing a speed run of the Obama years.
